Skyblazer is a 'dual mode' vehicle, also known as a roadable aircraft or 'Flying Car'.
Skyblazer automatically converts from car mode to airplane mode and back, so you can fly and drive interchangeably, combining the speed of a jet plane, with the door to door convenience of an automobile.
Skyblazer lets you journey wherever choose, on your own schedule, just the way you do in your car. But, with Skyblazer's unique ability to operate both on the road and in the air, every local airfield becomes simply an on or off ramp to the fastest freeway in the world - the freeway in the sky.
Skyblazer Roadable Aircraft Concept
Skyblazer is designed as an integrated transport system that uses both highway and skyway infrastructures to get you where you want to go - fast. The craft is able to operate out of all 5000+ public use airfields so that it can use the most convenient local fields. When in road configuration it has the required performance to operate within normal traffic.
The intention is to expand what we consider to be our local neighborhood into an area with a 1,000 mile radius. Freedom and convenience are the two guiding principles under which all design work has been accomplished.
With this in mind, the following parameters were identified from the outset as being of vital importance:

·
Seating for four adults.
· Baggage capacity of 50 lbs minimum.
· Easy to Fly - Must use the latest SATS and AGATE technology throughout.
· Comfortable passenger compartment - Pressurized cabin with as much room as an automobile.
· Self contained - Must retain all components required for both modes.
· Automatically transforms between modes - No manual labor required.
· Transformation lockout during operation - Absolute fail-safe system essential.
· All flying surfaces and avionics sensors securely stowed and hidden while in road mode.
· Fits in regular parking space and single car garage in road mode.
· Adequate road performance to operate within normal traffic.
· Visually appealing in both modes.
Skyblazer Concept – 2
While Skyblazer includes many unique features, two design choices are worthy of highlight:
1) The unique folding arrangement of Skyblazer's wings allows them to be packed into an impressively small space and yet still allows sufficient wing area and span. The wings also fold completely within the crafts body- a feature that has a major impact on the practicality of a vehicle that must often be left in public parking areas under the scrutiny of passers by. Using enclosed wings also allows the last, but not least, of the design criteria to be met - the Skyblazer is a very good looking vehicle as both a car and a plane.

2) Previous inventions have usually relied on a gasoline engine to drive the wheels and a propeller. While appearing attractive at first sight, this arrangement actually carries some severe problems. An aircraft requires much more power than does a ground vehicle and the steady sustained thrust needed by an aircraft is entirely different to the wide torque range and fast response required of an automobile. The unique approach adopted for Skyblazer utilizes a light but powerful fan jet engine for flight operations.

This same engine is used to generate electricity during ground operations, with the electricity fed though an 'Ultra Capacitor' to motors driving the front wheels. Other innovations in Skyblazer allow all the original design parameters to be met or exceeded, promising to make Skyblazer a truly practical and attractive option for personal transportation.
